Robert Ware, the immigrant ancestor of the Ware family of Dedham, Needham and Wrentham, Mass., is presumed to have been b. in England. Where and when he was b. and who were his parents remain unknown to this descendant. He d. Apr. 19, 1699 at Dedham, Mass., his then age not of record. He has no known gravestone if ever he had one to begin with; see note at the main page description of the Old Village Cemetery in Dedham.
Robert left an extended will dated Feb. 25, 1698/9 proved May 11, 1699. His estate inventory dated May 3, 1699 totaled 250-02-10 of which 129-10-00 was real estate with other items (e.g., cattle, grain, husbandry tools) indicating he was a farmer. Of historical note, the third witness to his will, Thomas Fuller, who also took his estate inventory, was Thomas Fuller, Jr. (1662-1734) of Dedham, the youngest son of the Dedham immigrant Lieut. Thomas Fuller (1620-1690). The elder Thomas was bapt. Jan. 20, 1619/20 at Redenhall, Norfolk, England, son of Ralph and Elizabeth (Eliot) Fuller. Ralph was the 1st cousin once removed of brothers Edward and Samuel Fuller also born at Redenhall, passengers of the 1620 Mayflower and signers of the compact that founded the Plymouth Colony.
